Out on a limb


This morning I had to check and see how the cormorant was doing with his company. Sure enough, the geese were still in residence -- and had pretty much taken over the accommodations. The cormorant seems to be saying, "Maybe if I just ignore them they'll go away..."

Uninvited guests


There's a small narrow "islet" out in the marsh where cormorants can usually be seen sitting. Today when I checked out what was there with my binoculars, I found that the one lone cormorant had been joined by one of the Canada geese families. He didn't look like he was enjoying his company.
