Talking about winged insects, when this one flies, it looks just like a miniature helicopter the way its wings rotate. It is one of the various damselflies seen at the marsh. I tried to identify it, but was overwhelmed by the task - too many darn variables (possibly one of the spreadwings).
Damselflies were everywhere this morning at the marsh, many of them of the common bluet variety. I saw one kind in particular that fascinated me, as when in flight they look like a miniature helicopter. This is what they look like when still, with a mainly bronze-colored body. I haven't yet identified it (I'm working on that).
