The Canada Thistle at the marsh is fast going to seed, and we all know the iconic thistle seed-eater - the American Goldfinch. However, they are almost impossible to catch in a photo, as they swoop off at the first sign of movement. Luck was with me this morning. Not only did I see one that wasn't too far away, but it was perched on a thistle plant, busily pulling at the downy tufts and eating the attached seeds.
